Choose a number of the day, say 18.
Students use that many plugs and find as many ways as possible to arrange them. Colour can be used to highlight the arrangement.
An example of an 18 arrangement.
This one illustrates:
18 ÷ 7 = 2 rem 4
(2 x 7) + 4 = 18
7 + 7 + 4 = 18
18 - 7 - 7 = 4, ...
Children describe and record their findings.
Poly Plug Paper
can be useful.
