The Task Centre Collective Publications

• The Task Centre Collective is jointly involved with Curriculum Corporation, Australia in the Maths300 Project. You can learn more about this project, which resources teachers to deliver excellent mathematics education, by following the projects link on this site.
• In response to teacher requests for help to integrate hands-on tasks and Maths300 whole class investigations, The Task Centre Collective has also joined with Curriculum Corporation, Australia to develop Maths With Attitude resource kits. Each kit includes 20 tasks, lessons extracted from Maths300 to CD-ROM and a manual with a week by week planner. The planner is designed to take the hard work out of creating happy, healthy, cheerful, productive, inspiring classrooms from Years 3 - 10. Across these year levels 16 different kits are available. Calculator Activities

I first began using calculators when teaching secondary school around 1976. In those days the calculator displays used red or green coloured lights and AA batteries - which ran out very quickly! In 1980 I began using the updated solar powered LCD display machines in my primary classroom. Over the decades I have gathered many useful activities which are shared here.
