Our Phillip Island Home
- new life -

Just 100 minutes drive from home, where Phillip Island protects Western Port Bay from the ravages of Bass Strait, is our NEW island retreat. Park the car and step up onto the front deck. Beach house

Wipe your feet though - it took me three days in scorching heat to paint the damn thing!

It's January 13th 2007. Welcome. Please come in and look around. It isn't quite finished but we think you will get the idea.

Front Deck

Eating area and living area hasn't changed. But Ina has had fun buying new furniture and the floor has had a bit of polish. Living Area

However, the former front bedroom has been converted to make a bigger living area. We will remodel the kitchen just before we retire here. More living area

Now off you go and explore for yourself while we make a cuppa. Or would you prefer a wine? It's okay to have a sticky-nose in the cupboards.

A small apology though. Some of this place is hard to photograph sharply because there is so much white.

It has a veggie patch which is screened from the deck by bushes. Fletch had the honour of the first planting because he helped me till the soil. He chose basil. Vegetable garden

It has it's own mini-deck with sink. Mini-deck

And a metre or so depth at the back of the old bungalow has been converted into a shed - lovingly hand painted inside by Ina.

It also has two 1650 litre water tanks around the other side, but since we are in the worst drought in centuries, it will have to rain for 40 days and nights before they are filled.

Once that happens, we will only have to wait for the grass to grow, do some little bits of painting, add a few more plants ... and relax.
